Techniques
Explore our wide range of textile techniques from clean Machine embroideries to skillful artisanal handiwork

Embroidery
At Raga, we take pride in our innovative approach to embroidery, blending modern techniques with traditional artistry. Our skilled artisans specialize in hand-guided machine embroidery, Crewel work (also known as Aari), Hand embroidery (Adda work), and Dori embroidery. We experiment with a wide variety of yarns, treatments, and techniques to craft unique surface designs, creating textures that add depth and character to every piece.
Kantha
One of our favorites is Kantha, an ancient craft from Bengal that began as a form of recycling. We’ve deeply explored this indigenous technique, giving it a contemporary twist to create modern, aesthetically rich designs. The intricacy of Kantha stitching allows us to create layered textures and intricate patterns.

Handwoven & Khadi
Handwoven fabrics are a key part of our collection. Handwoven fabric is a testament to the artistry and skill of skilled artisans who manually interlace threads on a loom to create fabric, with special attention to both texture and color.
We also work with Khadi, a traditional handspun and woven fabric, bringing its natural charm into modern, versatile designs that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
Printing
Our in-house printing studio enables us to explore a variety of techniques. We love experimenting with different styles and combining them with other techniques. The result? Textiles with rich, vibrant colors and one-of-a-kind designs that feel fresh and unique.. From screen printing with diverse pigments to digital printing and traditional block printing, we focus on achieving the perfect colors and finishes for every collection

Shibori & Handpainted
In our dyeing workshop, we specialize in Shibori, a traditional Japanese technique involving intricate folding, stitching, and twisting to create complex, beautiful patterns. Over the years, we’ve mastered this technique, building a diverse portfolio of Shibori textiles
We also work with hand painted fabric. Each piece is manually painted with natural dyes. This technique allows for an incredible level of detail and creativity, with no two pieces ever being the same. The result is a rich, personalized look that celebrates the beauty of artisanal craftsmanship.
